Digital Courses:


When can I begin the class?
This not a live class, so it is accessible as soon as it is purchased.

 

How do I pass a course?
To obtain your certificate of completion you will have to watch all of the videos and pass each quiz with a minimum score of 70%. The quizzes can be retaken until they are passed, but students unlock the quizzes only after finishing the lecture the first time. This way students can’t fast forward through everything to complete the quizzes without fully engaging with the content

 

How do I obtain a Certificate?
After the student completes each course they will receive a certificate of completion. The student can then submit their certificate of completions to our email address and we will send the Certificate for the Program to them upon review. For requirements of each of our certificate programs please visit our Certificates Page.

 

What does the enrollment fee include?

  • Access to every lecture in the class
  • A downloadable workbook with lesson recaps, takeaways, and discussion questions
  • Membership to an active community of engaged students

 

What format does the class take?
The lecture outline for each Catholic Course is designed by the instructor. Each class includes extensive pre-recorded video content, a class workbook and a quiz covering each lecture. The videos are viewable at any time, and they can be paused, and re-watched as many times as you'd like. In addition, many students utilize the class discussions below each video to share their thoughts and to discuss the content.

 

How long is the class?
Approximately 4 hours of footage that is comprised of 8, 30-minute lectures.

 

Can I download the videos?
No, the videos are not downloadable - but they are available in your account, ready for viewing (and re-watching) at any time.

In this course, Father Kirby takes a look at the history and artwork of St. Peter's Square and Basilica through the light of faith. This comprehensive tour explains why St. Peter's Basilica was significant to the early Christians, and why it is still significant today.

The digital course includes lifetime access to eight 30 minutes lectures, a quiz on each lecture and a PDF of the Lecture Guide. The full-color Lecture Guides provide helpful discussion questions, insightful lecture summaries, and suggested readings for each participant. Passing each quiz in the course with a minimum score of 70% gives the student a certificate of completion, which can be applied to one our certificate programs. See Certificates for more detail.

Meet your Professor

Father Jeffrey Kirby was ordained into the priesthood on July 27th, 2007. He received his Masters in Bioethics from Queen of the Apostles in Rome, and his Masters of Arts in Philosophy from Franciscan University where he graduated summa cum laude. Since 2010, he has been the Vicar of Vocations for the Diocese of Charleston where he has guided numerous young men and women in the spiritual life and in the process of discernment. In 2011, he founded the Drexel House, a Catholic Residence for Men. Drawing on these experiences, he wrote the book Lord, Teach Us To Pray (Saint Benedict Press, 2014). He has been a contributor of the Homiletic and Pastoral Review, and a guest columnist in The Catholic Miscellany, The Post and Courier, The Charlotte Observer, and The Aiken Standard. He is the co-author of the children's book, Becoming Father Bob and author of the book, Encountering the Lord in His Holy Court: A Walk through St. Peter's Basilica.
